It’s easy to look back nostalgically and think things were always better in the past. With food there’s certainly some truth in the assertion that things were better in the “good old days” – before commercial and supply-chain pressures out-weighed quality and taste. We rear our animals by hand, the old fashioned way. There are no mechanised feeding systems here – just good old fashioned feed buckets and water troughs. This produces a docile, good-natured animal, used to human contact – essential to a stress-free life for the animal. We do, however, follow the latest veterinary practices and advice, contributing to the very best animal welfare.
